A project typically begins with
an initial free consultation over the phone. Alternately,
we may also be contacted by email. In either case,
we are pleased to discuss the nature and scope
of your project, and help you evaluate your decorative
painting needs. If available, we ask for your
architectural drawings and elevations which we
may refer to in order to provide an accurate quote.
These may be faxed, emailed, or sent to us directly
by Fedex or regular mail. An appointment may be
made to meet on-site if your project is located
in the New York-Connecticut metropolitan area.
At on-site meetings, we provide our portfolio
for your review, and any extant samples which
may be of interest or relevance to your project.
Because every project is unique,
we do not maintain a sample library, but rather,
we create samples specifically for you. This usually
occurs following initial evaluation, meeting,
and/or receipt of commission. At this stage, we
work from actual fabric or trim samples from your
décor, or photographs and other references
you provide from which we can create samples that
complement your interior design. Most samples
will be executed on illustration board, such as
those for glazing, stenciling, etc. In the case
of murals, we provide initial black-and-white
sketches to scale, and later refine these into
color renderings, along with a sample on canvas
or board demonstrating style and paint handling.
In some cases, we request the actual material
on which the painting will be executed, such as
for example, actual floorboards to create a painted
floor design.
For commissions, we require
a 50% deposit based on the written estimate provided.
A written estimate may be faxed, emailed, or sent
to you by regular mail upon request. Once we have
received the deposit, we then schedule your project
for production. The final balance is due upon
completion.
